Hybrid molten salt fission reactor and molten salt ISRU smelter systems
I suggest that thermal heat from a molten salt fission reactor could heat a molten salt smelter, process heat from reactor is transferred to molten salt/metal ISRU smelter systems.
Many of the systems and methods used to remove heavy metals such as actinides and transuranic and noble gases from the molten salt reactors could inform us as to methods to remove elements from molten salt that has had ore added to it.Electrical energy from the reactor could power molten ISRU glass smelting systems.
Process heat from molten salt fission reactors and molten glass and salt ISRU smelting also makes possible the production of syngas.
The molten salt fission reactor is powering its own smelter for ISRU of transuranics!
